Under the patronage of His Excellency Major General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, the Ras Al Khaimah Police General Command celebrated World Tourism Day 2023 with the theme "Authenticity and Sustainable Tourism." The event, held in collaboration with the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism and Development Authority and strategic partners, took place at Al Manar Mall - Ras Al Khaimah.
Major General Ali bin Alwan highlighted Ras Al Khaimah's vital role in fostering the tourism sector, citing its recognition as the Gulf Tourism Capital for two consecutive years in 2020 and 2021. He underscored the commitment of Ras Al Khaimah Police to ensuring a secure and sustainable tourist environment. He commended the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Police's educational programs, which have reached 358,000 tourists in the first half of 2023. He also praised their efforts in safeguarding tourist facilities and preserving the UAE's cultural and historical heritage, further solidifying Ras Al Khaimah's reputation as a premier tourist destination.
The celebration was attended by Brigadier Tariq Mohammed bin Saif, Director General of Police Operations at Ras Al Khaimah Police, representatives from the tourism sector, strategic partners, and police officers. The event included the honoring of strategic partners and collaborators from various authorities, including the Tourism and Development Authority, Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority, Government of Ras Al Khaimah - Department of Civil Aviation, Environmental Protection and Development Authority, Department of Antiquities and Museums, Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Foundation for Youth Project Development, Ras Al Khaimah American Academy, Manar Mall Center, Al Shaer Military Band, and Delight Events Organization, Coffee Cycle, and the Takatuf volunteer team.
Notably, the celebration featured an innovative AI-powered presentation, marking the first time such technology was used. The Ras Al Khaimah Police Department of Media and Public Relations leveraged artificial intelligence to enhance the quality and attractiveness of the media content, enhancing the attendees' experience and making it both enriching and engaging. The event also included a heritage exhibition, a military band performance, and presentations on the strategic partners' green investment initiatives in tourism development.
Brigadier Tariq bin Saif expressed gratitude to the partners and collaborators with the Tourist Police for their constructive role in promoting authenticity and sustainable tourism in Ras Al Khaimah. He praised the efforts of the Tourist Police Section in educating tourists in multiple languages and introducing them to Emirati heritage and culture. He extended his best wishes for the continued success of the tourism sector and the development and sustainability of Ras Al Khaimah.
