The Ras Al Khaimah Police General Command, represented by the General Department of Police Operations, has issued a warning to vehicle owners and drivers regarding fake insurance advertisements aimed at defrauding the public by exploiting their search for lower prices.

Brigadier Dr. Tariq Mohammed bin Saif, Director General of Police Operations, stated that this warning comes in response to the increasing spread of fraudulent car insurance advertisements across social media platforms. These misleading promotions target a wide segment of the community, prompting the launch of a digital awareness campaign through the official Ras Al Khaimah Police accounts and websites to alert the public to such deceptive practices.

He explained that these advertisements often offer insurance policies at unrealistically low prices, with fraudsters impersonating well-known insurance companies or licensed brokers to attract victims. Individuals may unknowingly fall victim after transferring funds, only to receive fake or invalid insurance policies.

Brigadier Dr. bin Saif stressed the importance of verifying that any insurance provider is officially licensed by the relevant authorities before making payments. He also urged the public to remain cautious of suspicious accounts promoting unrealistic offers, and to ensure that an official and approved insurance policy is issued immediately upon payment.

He further emphasized the need to avoid being misled by exaggerated discounts and unreliable offers, as these are commonly used tactics by fraudsters seeking illegal financial gain.

Ras Al Khaimah Police affirmed that specialized departments are intensifying monitoring and awareness efforts to identify and apprehend those involved in such fraudulent activities, and to take strict legal action against them. The public is also encouraged to report any suspicious websites or accounts promoting such scams, as part of a shared responsibility to protect the community and safeguard financial security.
