The Traffic and Patrols Department launched the "Safe Driving for Bike Riders" initiative to control unlicensed bicycles as part of the inaugural unified traffic campaign run by the Federal Traffic Council at the federal level and in accordance with the directives of His Excellency Major General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police. This improves traffic safety on the roads and lowers the number of accidents that result in fatalities. “This campaign, which covers all areas within the boundaries of Ras Al-Khaimah, will last for an entire month, and it targets bicycles that are not registered, have no number plates or identity documents, lack security and safety criteria, and are in violation of the country's traffic laws, rules, and regulations,” according to Brigadier General Ahmed Al-Sam Al-Naqbi, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department in Ras Al-Khaimah and Head of the Traffic Awareness and Culture Team at the Federal Traffic Council.
