Ras Al Khaimah Police Announces Readiness for a Safe Start to the School Year

His Excellency Brigadier Ahmed Al Sam Al Naqbi, Director General of Central Operations at Ras Al Khaimah Police, chaired a meeting on the upcoming traffic safety campaign for school students. The meeting was held in the conference hall of the Traffic and Patrols Department, with the participation of representatives from the Central Operations Department, the Comprehensive Police Stations Department, the Ministry of Education, Emirates Transport, and Saaed Traffic Systems. The coordination meeting aimed to ensure the highest standards of traffic safety for students as the new school year begins early next week, by regulating traffic and securing smooth flow in front of educational complexes and major schools across the emirate. Brigadier Al Naqbi emphasized the full readiness of all police units to welcome the new school year, utilizing all human and material resources to safeguard students and ensure their safe arrival.  He confirmed that patrols from the Traffic and Patrols Department, in cooperation with comprehensive police stations, will intensify deployment on main roads, intersections, and near schools. All officers will be in the field on the first day of school to reinforce police presence and provide a secure learning environment, reflecting the Ras Al Khaimah Police General Command’s commitment to the educational process. His Excellency commended the cooperation of relevant entities—including the Ministry of Education, Emirates Transport, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, the Ras Al Khaimah Public Services Department, and Saaed Traffic Systems Company, in achieving the shared goal of providing the highest levels of student traffic safety. The meeting reviewed traffic hotspots around key educational facilities across Ras Al Khaimah, identifying locations that require focused patrol deployment during morning and afternoon peak times to ease congestion, prevent accidents, and protect students and their families. Patrols will operate from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. in the morning and from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the afternoon starting from the first day of school. Additionally, Ras Al Khaimah Police, through the Traffic and Patrols Department, announced readiness to organize specialized lectures and workshops for schools and school bus drivers to raise awareness and highlight unsafe practices that threaten student safety and could result in violations or disciplinary measures. The police stressed the importance of continued cooperation from all stakeholders to maximize safety efforts. In alignment with the Ministry of Interior’s objectives, the “A Day Without Accidents” campaign will also be implemented, granting a deduction of four traffic points for drivers who pledge to avoid causing accidents on the first day of the academic year. This initiative supports Ras Al Khaimah Police’s overarching mission to protect students, their families, and school staff across the emirate.
