Under the patronage of the National Anti-Narcotics Agency, the General Command of Ras Al Khaimah Police organized a preventive lecture titled “You Are Role Models for Youth” as part of the “Uniting Ranks… to Eradicate the Scourge” initiative. The lecture was held at the headquarters of the Amateur Marine Fishing Association in the Al Muairidh area of Ras Al Khaimah and was attended by Brigadier Ibrahim Jassim Al Tunaiji, Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department at Ras Al Khaimah Police. The event aimed to enhance community awareness and strengthen the role of positive role models in protecting youth from negative behaviors and social dangers.

The lecture covered several important topics related to preventing drug abuse and addiction through raising family and community awareness about the dangers of narcotic drugs and psychoactive substances. It also highlighted the importance of promoting a culture of shared social responsibility in early reporting and seeking treatment, emphasizing the role of families in prevention through early detection and intervention, and supporting national initiatives aimed at empowering youth and strengthening social stability.

During the lecture, participants involved in anti-narcotics efforts stressed the importance of unifying and strengthening community and national cooperation among families, society, and the concerned authorities to protect youth, families, and society from the dangers of psychoactive substance abuse and to reduce its spread. They emphasized that such efforts contribute to preserving the security and safety of both the family and society, in support of the initiatives of the Year of the Family 2026.
