His Excellency Brigadier Ahmed Al Sam Al Naqbi, Director General of Central Operations at Ras Al Khaimah Police, confirmed that the Safe City project in the emirate has significantly contributed to strengthening the security and traffic system at the emirate level, as well as monitoring and arresting outlaws and violators of the regulations in force in the country.
During Al Ain Al Sahera program, organized by the Ras Al Khaimah Police General Command, represented by the Media and Public Relations Department in cooperation with the Ras Al Khaimah Government Media Office and the Broadcasting Authority, His Excellency stated that the command, in collaboration with its strategic partners—including the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management National Authority - Ras Al Khaimah, the Public Services Department, the Tourism Authority, the Municipality Department, and the relevant police departments—has developed necessary plans to ensure full preparations for the winter season. These preparations aim to provide the highest standards of security and safety for the public and road users, as well as to address the repercussions of rainfall and mitigate its effects in various areas of the emirate. He emphasized that the police operations room continuously monitors weather conditions and issues necessary alerts and notices to the public to ensure their safety and enhance traffic safety on roads.
The Director General of Central Operations at Ras Al Khaimah Police highlighted the coordination and cooperation mechanism between the Search and Rescue Section, the Air Wing Section at Ras Al Khaimah Police, and the Operations Room to raise awareness among mountaineers and sports enthusiasts in rugged areas. This coordination aims to protect them from the risks of falling, getting injured, or becoming lost in potentially hazardous locations. He stressed the importance of adhering to instructions, monitoring weather conditions, and informing the Operations Room in advance of planned visits to mountainous areas to facilitate rescue operations in case of emergencies. Additionally, he advised visitors to carry sufficient quantities of food and water, avoid rugged areas, and refrain from practicing mountain sports at night.
Brigadier Al Naqbi urged drivers and residents, both from within and outside the emirate, who wish to visit Jebel Jais—especially during this time of year when the site witnesses a significant influx of visitors—to avoid overcrowding, exercise caution while driving, and closely monitor children. He advised against climbing the mountain during rainfall to ensure their safety and that of their family members. Furthermore, he warned parents about the dangers of allowing their children to drive vehicles without obtaining a valid driving license, as this poses a serious risk to their lives and safety. He highlighted the strict laws and severe penalties imposed on violators of such traffic regulations.
To address this issue, he added that military and civil police patrols will increase their presence on the streets and in residential neighborhoods during the school holiday to prevent unauthorized driving. Meanwhile, the General Command of Ras Al Khaimah Police, through its concerned departments, has developed a comprehensive plan for New Year's celebrations. This plan ensures the safety of road users, maintains smooth traffic flow, and facilitates vehicle and pedestrian access to the main celebration site on Al Marjan Island and nearby areas.
He further explained that the General Directorate of Central Operations at Ras Al Khaimah Police has implemented four major awareness campaigns throughout the current year, as set by the Federal Traffic Council. In addition, several educational campaigns have been organized at the local level to raise public awareness, achieve the highest levels of traffic safety on roads, and reduce accidents and the resulting loss of lives and property.
