Ras Al Khaimah Police, in cooperation with Ras Al Khaimah Courts, recently organized a workshop titled Expert Testimony Before Courts, attended by His Excellency Major General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, along with numerous senior officers and affiliates. The workshop was presented by His Excellency Counselor Mohamed Talat Abu Al Makarem, President of the Court of Cassation in Ras Al Khaimah.

Counselor Abu Al Makarem emphasized the critical role of technical expert testimony in legal cases, as it helps judges reach fair and just rulings. He explained that testimony is a cornerstone of evidence, significantly influencing case outcomes and providing a comprehensive view that supports other evidence. Even hearsay testimony, when reliably sourced, can be valuable to the court.

He further highlighted that the court ensures all necessary guarantees for experts, allowing them to express their technical opinions in an accessible manner, which aids all participants in comprehending the technical issues under review. The court rigorously fulfills its legal responsibilities by thoroughly investigating all evidence, including expert testimony, to ascertain the truth in each case.

The session concluded with active participation from officers and affiliates, who posed questions about challenges encountered in evidence collection, technical crime scene examination, and court testimony. Counselor Abu Al-Makarem provided insightful responses, addressing each query with clarity and practical examples.
