The Ras Al Khaimah Police General Command celebrated International Volunteer Day, observed annually on December 5, at the Martyr Tariq Al Shehhi Building. The event was attended by His Excellency Brigadier Ahmed Al Sam Al Naqbi, Director General of Central Operations at Ras Al Khaimah Police, alongside police officers and employees.
The occasion aimed to raise awareness about the critical role of volunteer work in fostering peace and building strong communities. It also called on police officers, members, and society at large to engage in volunteer activities, dedicating time and effort to community service. The celebration honored and appreciated volunteer contributions, highlighting the spirit of selfless giving for the greater good. Brigadier Al Naqbi reaffirmed the Ras Al Khaimah Police General Command's commitment to promoting volunteerism and the values of humanitarian contribution. He emphasized that volunteer work aligns with the Ministry of Interior’s vision to enhance the quality of life, achieve societal development, and foster sustainability. Volunteerism not only provides assistance and preserves dignity but also strengthens solidarity within communities. Brigadier Al Naqbi lauded the UAE's leadership in championing volunteer and humanitarian efforts worldwide, noting its status as one of the largest global contributors to development aid. These efforts have significantly enhanced the nation's global standing and its role in improving lives around the world.
The celebration included an educational awareness lecture delivered by Ms. Maryam Ali Al Kass, a career guidance specialist from the Emirates Volunteers Platform. The lecture highlighted the importance of volunteer work, its benefits, and the process of joining the national platform “Emirates Volunteers.” The platform aims to establish a sustainable and comprehensive system for volunteerism, offering specialized programs for all segments of society. Ms. Al Kass outlined various volunteering opportunities available on the platform, including education, humanitarian aid, elderly care, healthcare, culture, arts, sports, entertainment, environmental protection, community service, international volunteering, emergency response, and support for people with disabilities.
