The Ras Al Khaimah Police Women's General Command Team, led by Major Amal Hassan Al Obaid, Head of the Team and Manager of the Rehabilitation and Training Branch at the Punitive and Correctional Establishment, inaugurated the Orange Campaign Activities Program to Combat Violence Against Women under the slogan “Together to End Violence Against Women.” The campaign commenced on November 25, marking the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and will continue until December 9.
The campaign was launched at the Punitive and Correctional Establishment with the participation of His Excellency Colonel Abdullah Al-Haimer, Director of the Punitive and Correctional Establishment Department. The activities included engaging the families of inmates in the program, raising awareness about combating violence against women and distributing gifts accompanied by orange-colored cards symbolizing the campaign's theme. The initiative then extended to Al-Jazirah Al-Hamra Comprehensive Police Station, where similar activities were conducted, leaving a positive impact. Major Amal Al Obaid emphasized the campaign's ongoing commitment to supporting efforts to combat violence against women, uphold their dignity, and ensure their right to a safe, stable, and violence-free life. As part of the campaign, the Orange Campaign Parade is scheduled for Friday, December 6, 2024, at Al Qawasim Corniche in collaboration with the Aman Center for Sheltering Women and Children. The campaign will conclude with a women’s sports championship, further emphasizing the national efforts of the United Arab Emirates to eliminate violence against women and girls. The campaign highlights the UAE's dedication to equality, justice, and peace, reaffirming the fundamental human rights of women. Major Al Obaid stressed the importance of women as key contributors to building stable and safe families and societies, recognizing them as essential partners in the nation’s construction and development journey.
