The General Command of Ras Al Khaimah Police, represented by the Media and Public Relations Department, in collaboration with the Criminal Investigations and Community Police Departments, has emphasized the importance of securing homes when leaving for travel and vacations to protect property and ensure safety.

This reminder was part of the awareness campaign launched by Ras Al Khaimah Police under the slogan "How to Secure Your Home While You Travel," timed with the summer holiday season. The campaign aims to alert community members, especially travelers, about the importance of securing their homes. It is being disseminated through various media channels and official social networking platforms.

Key recommendations include ensuring all doors and windows are closed and secured before traveling, asking relatives or neighbors to periodically check on the house, using temporary lighting systems to make the house appear occupied, implementing "remote control" systems for doors and windows and "visual security" systems for remote monitoring, storing valuables in safe places like banks, turning off gas and disconnecting unnecessary electrical appliances to prevent fire accidents, and using home garages to store vehicles to protect them from theft or tampering.

Major Saeed Salem Al Musafiri, Manager of the Awareness and Media Campaigns Branch at Ras Al Khaimah Police, cautioned the public against announcing their travel plans on social media to avoid being targeted by criminals. He emphasized that reporting any security incidents promptly by calling 999 is a national duty. He concluded by wishing safety and security for all community members
