The General Command of Ras Al Khaimah Police announced a tangible drop in pedestrian run-over accidents during the first half of 2025, compared with 2024, by 15%. This result highlights the success of efforts to enhance traffic safety and protect lives and property. The achievement was realized through the use of smart vehicle-tracking systems to monitor high-risk violations, which significantly contributed to reducing injuries and fatalities.
H.E. Brigadier Ahmed Al Sam Al Naqbi, Director General of Central Operations at Ras Al Khaimah Police, pointed out that this achievement reflects the efforts of the General Command in implementing proactive measures, enhancing smart traffic monitoring, conducting traffic awareness campaigns, and ensuring effective traffic enforcement. These combined efforts have contributed to creating a safe traffic environment that supports security and quality of life in the emirate.
The Director General of Central Operations emphasized Ras Al Khaimah Police Traffic Department’s commitment to enhancing traffic awareness among road users by stressing the importance of adhering to traffic rules and regulations. He highlighted the need to remind drivers and pedestrians to follow road safety instructions, cross only at designated pedestrian crossings, and use pedestrian lines, crossings, and bridges allocated for this purpose, in order to avoid serious run-over accidents and protect lives and property.
