Day Two of Ras Al Khaimah's Forensic Sciences Conference: 34 Expert Sessions and Workshops

Continuing its momentum, the First International Conference on Forensic Sciences, hosted by the Ras Al Khaimah Police General Command, saw a productive second day with a lineup of 34 specialized sessions and workshops.

These sessions drew significant interest from professionals in forensic medicine, both domestic and international, along with university students and legal practitioners. Their enthusiastic participation reflected a keenness to absorb insights shared by global scientists, researchers, and specialists presenting diverse topics.

During one of the sessions, Professor Dr. Dina Shukri, President of the Arab Federation of Forensic Medicine, delved into the pivotal role of artificial intelligence (AI) in forensic medicine and toxicology. Dr. Shukri emphasized how AI significantly expedites examinations and data analysis, saving valuable time and effort in forensic laboratories while ensuring enhanced accuracy.

Her discussion encompassed the evolution of AI, risk assessment, biological characteristic analysis, data processing, and the simplification of procedures aided by modern technologies and algorithms, particularly in voice and image recognition. Dr. Shukri underscored the ethical imperative in AI use, emphasizing the need for transparency and integrity in its applications to ensure just outcomes.
