The National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, in coordination with all strategic partners within the national emergency, crisis, and disaster management community, is organizing National Response Drill 13/2025. The drill is specialized in the field of natural disasters, and comes as part of a series of national drills aimed at developing integrated capabilities to ensure the highest levels of readiness and effective response in the event of emergencies and crises. The drill aims to strengthen joint mechanisms of cooperation among various national and local entities, and to test the national readiness and joint coordination between the relevant authorities in responding to natural disasters. It reflects the integration of roles and reaffirms the resilience of the national system in addressing challenges, even under the most difficult circumstances. The drill also seeks to comprehensively evaluate the national response system, starting with planning and extending to practical field implementation. The first phase of the drill commenced with a tabletop exercise, during which theoretical frameworks, potential scenarios, and the roles and responsibilities of the relevant authorities were discussed. This phase was followed by the Command Center Drill, set to take place this September, which will focus on testing coordination mechanisms and activating operational management plans nationwide to ensure timely decision-making and effective information sharing between command and control centers. The drill will conclude with the field phase, scheduled for October in Ras Al Khaimah. This phase will practically simulate the response to a natural disaster, aiming to test field capabilities, activate support and backup plans, and ensure the readiness of emergency teams to operate side by side on the ground. The drill reflects national readiness by highlighting the efficiency of the national system and its comprehensive preparedness to handle various natural disasters, through proactive capabilities and effective emergency plans that ensure swift response, protection of lives and property, and continuity of vital services. The drill also demonstrates the preventive measures implemented across all components of the national system, reflecting the country’s awareness of the importance of proactive action before risks occur. Through the drill, the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority emphasizes the importance of unifying national efforts by showcasing a harmonized operational system that brings together various sectors across the country, reflecting the highest levels of coordination and institutional integration. The drill also highlights the UAE’s distinguished model in emergency, crisis, and disaster management, positioning it as a leading model in the region that demonstrates the nation’s readiness and its capacity to handle diverse emergency scenarios efficiently and flexibly.
