As part of its continuous efforts to enhance field readiness and leverage the latest technologies in supporting police work, the General Command of Ras Al Khaimah Police announced the launch of the Aerial Support Platform, an integrated system for directing unmanned aerial vehicles (drones). The platform is designed to boost response efficiency, improve mechanisms for handling field incidents, and enable their immediate and direct management from central operations rooms. Major General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, affirmed that this step comes within the framework of the Ministry of Interior’s strategy aimed at utilizing modern technologies and artificial intelligence to support the system of community security and stability. He pointed out that the new platform will contribute to enhancing field visibility and transmitting live images from the scene to operations rooms, enabling emergency teams to make precise and swift decisions that ensure maximum responsiveness, particularly in cases of major accidents, traffic congestions, natural disasters, and crisis management. Colonel Staff Dr. Abdullah Ahmed Al Nuaimi, Director of the Operations Department, explained that the Aerial Support Platform has been designed to integrate with the command-and-control system, allowing unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) to be remotely operated by the operations room and directed to incident sites or hot spots. He added that specialized police teams have been trained to pilot and operate drones in line with the highest technical and security standards, thereby enhancing the speed of response to emergency security incidents through an advanced feature for rapid communication with emergency teams, which automatically transmits incident information. Colonel Staff Dr. Abdullah Al-Nuaimi concluded his statement by affirming that the introduction of this system reflects Ras Al Khaimah Police’s vision of proactivity, rapid response, innovation, and the advancement of emergency services towards smarter and more effective levels. He pointed out that the coming phase will witness an expansion in the use of smart drones to cover various areas such as event monitoring, supporting patrols, and following up on field reports.
