Ras Al Khaimah Police achieved outstanding security success during the 54th UAE National Day celebrations, reflected in the positive atmosphere across all roads and vital thoroughfares in the emirate. This success contributed to smooth traffic flow despite the festive conditions and the significant increase in the number of residents and tourists visiting various areas of Ras Al Khaimah.
Brigadier Ahmed Al Sam Al Naqbi, Director General of Central Operations and Head of the Permanent Team for Celebrations and Events at Ras Al Khaimah Police, confirmed that the clear directives and close follow-up of His Excellency Major General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander in Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, were evident in the successful implementation of a comprehensive security plan prepared in advance. The plan was executed in coordination with the Comprehensive Police Stations Department, the Operations Department, and the Traffic and Patrols Department.
The plan ensured full control over all streets, intersections, roundabouts, and vital roads across the emirate, effective traffic management, and the implementation of all necessary field measures to prevent congestion, maintain smooth traffic flow, and enable rapid response to emergencies.
Brigadier Al Naqbi stated that 82 different patrols were deployed during the celebrations, including military patrols, responder patrols, security media patrols, tracking patrols, traffic officers, civilian patrols, support patrols, criminal investigation patrols, as well as police station patrols operating within their respective jurisdictions. He noted the intensive presence of the Comprehensive City Police Station, given the vast area under its jurisdiction and the high traffic density it witnessed during the celebrations.
He further explained that the operations room received 7,130 calls during the National Day holiday, all of which were handled professionally and referred to the relevant authorities according to the nature of each call. This high volume of calls coincided with the significant influx of visitors from outside the emirate to its major tourist destinations, particularly Jebel Jais, which attracted tens of thousands of visitors from within the country and abroad.
Brigadier Al Naqbi added that all relevant police departments operated within a 24-hour work system throughout the 54th Union Day holiday, aiming to enhance quality of life, ensure comprehensive traffic supervision, strengthen road safety, and provide guidance and advice to drivers and road users. He noted that the high level of public cooperation contributed to a noticeable reduction in traffic violations compared to previous similar occasions.
Brigadier Al Naqbi praised the exceptional efforts of Ras Al Khaimah Police personnel, who worked tirelessly day and night to ensure the security, safety, and comfort of citizens, residents, and visitors during the National Day celebrations.
