In an innovative move to enhance smart services and streamline traffic procedures, the General Command of Ras Al Khaimah Police, in collaboration with the General Resources Authority, announced the launch of the smart home impoundment system for vehicles, effective January 20. This system allows owners of violating vehicles to keep their vehicles in their custody rather than parking them in the vehicle impoundment yard, with electronic monitoring in place to ensure compliance with restrictions on moving the vehicles from the designated impoundment location.

His Excellency Major General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, stated that the service would be activated through traffic systems, enabling vehicle owners to select a suitable location to impound their vehicles under their direct supervision while ensuring their care during the impoundment period. He highlighted that the new system eases the burden on impoundment yards and leverages advanced technologies to enforce compliance with the regulations established by the Ministry of Interior.

He further emphasized that this initiative aligns with Ras Al Khaimah Police's vision to utilize modern technology to improve the quality of police and traffic services, enhance road safety, and offer innovative solutions to conventional challenges such as congestion in impoundment yards.

The smart impoundment system launch also underscores Ras Al Khaimah Police's dedication to enhancing customer services in line with international best practices. The service provides customers the flexibility to maintain their violating vehicles and operate them periodically to prevent damage caused by prolonged parking.
