The General Command of Ras Al Khaimah Police, represented by the Community Protection and Prevention Department – Community Police Section, hosted the “Ministry of Interior Councils – University Councils” initiative. Launched by the Ministry of Interior as part of its efforts to promote a culture of lawfulness under the slogan “Conduct and Ethics of the Emirati Citizen,” the session was held at RAK Medical and Health Sciences University. It was attended by a distinguished group of academics and specialists in legal and human rights fields, with a total attendance of 420 participants including students and university administrative and academic staff members.
The initiative discussed a set of themes derived from the “Conduct and Ethics of the Emirati Citizen” document, including: the Citizenship and Belonging theme, which covered the concept of citizenship and belonging and the distinctive aspects of the Emirati identity; the Citizenship Education theme, highlighting the importance of instilling citizenship values within families and educational institutions; the Ethics and General Behaviors theme, emphasizing the role of shared values in fostering a tolerant and respectful community; the Family and Society theme, underlining the importance of a cohesive family in building a positive and cooperative society; and the Homeland theme, addressing loyalty to the nation, unity, cohesion, protection of the environment and public property, and awareness of rights and duties. The initiative featured the participation of Major Dr. Hawa Yousef Ahmed Al Raisi, Director of the Awareness Branch at the Human Rights Department of the Ministry of Interior and Secretary of the Anti-Human Trafficking Committee, and Dr. Lamya Ali Al Zarooni, a certified lecturer from the Ministry of Interior. The dialogue was moderated by Captain Ibrahim Al Jeiri, Director of the Electronic and Television Media Branch at the Media and Public Relations Department of Ras Al Khaimah Police, who engaged with students in discussing the proposed themes, emphasizing the role of university councils in fostering a culture of dialogue and national belonging among youth. At the conclusion of the session, participating entities were honored in recognition of their contributions to the success of the initiative.
Major Rashid Saeed Balhoon, Head of the Community Police Department, praised the attendees for their engagement, which reflected their keen interest and strong commitment to benefit from the initiative. He also commended the high level of organization, quality of preparation, and constructive interaction, which embodied the spirit of cooperation between the Ministry of Interior and universities. He emphasized the importance of continuing such purposeful initiatives, which contribute to cultivating a generation that is aware, deeply rooted in authentic Emirati values, and capable of advancing the nation’s progress and prosperity with pride and honor.
