Ras Al Khaimah Police has launched its annual awareness campaign titled “Combat Begging and Help Those in Need,” in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan.
The campaign forms part of Ras Al Khaimah Police’s ongoing awareness initiatives aimed at enhancing security awareness among individuals and institutions within the community, and reducing negative behaviors and security-related phenomena. This is achieved through the dissemination of targeted awareness messages across the Police’s official social media platforms and various media channels.
The launch of the campaign aligns with the initiatives of the Ministry of Interior, which seek to curb the phenomenon of begging, an issue that becomes more prevalent during the month of Ramadan. This increase is often driven by individuals who exploit the spirit of compassion and generosity associated with the holy month, without the public being fully aware of the potential risks and negative social and security implications of such practices, which are inconsistent with the values of the society.
Ras Al Khaimah Police urged members of the public not to provide money to beggars in any form, to report such cases immediately through the designated channels, and to cooperate with police efforts to combat this phenomenon.
