Ras Al Khaimah Police have warned against a new criminal method adopted by individuals seeking illicit financial gains through fake vehicle insurance advertisements.
Ras Al Khaimah Police issued an awareness post via their official accounts and affiliated social media platforms, which included a set of tips and guidelines urging vehicle owners and drivers to ensure that insurance companies are licensed and approved by the competent authorities in the country before making any payments. The post also cautioned against being misled by offers that present unrealistically low prices and stressed the importance of avoiding transferring any amounts to personal accounts or unofficial numbers.
The post further urged the targeted audience to ensure receipt of an official and accredited insurance policy immediately upon completing the insurance process, to beware of fake or unverified social media accounts, and to promptly report any suspicious offers.
H.E. Brigadier Dr. Tariq Mohammed bin Saif, Director General of Police Operations in Ras Al Khaimah, affirmed the General Command of Ras Al Khaimah Police’s keenness to continue strengthening awareness and educational efforts across all segments of society, given their critical role in protecting individuals from falling victim to fraudsters and scammers and the resulting financial losses.
