Ras Al Khaimah Police launches the Federal Campaign (Commitment to Mandatory Lane)

In accordance with the Ministry of Interior's directives and the recommendations of His Excellency Major General Muhammad Saif Al Zaffin, Chairman of the Federal Traffic Council, the Traffic and Patrols Department of Ras Al Khaimah Police launched a federal traffic campaign with the slogan (Commitment to Mandatory Lane) to encourage drivers to stay in their compulsory lane in order to avoid fatal traffic accidents caused by sudden lane changes.

His Excellency Brigadier Ahmed Al Samm Al Naqbi, Director of Traffic and Patrols Department of Ras Al Khaimah Police - Head of Traffic Awareness and Safety Team at the Federal Traffic Council, clarified that the mandatory lane for vehicles refers to the requirement for drivers to drive in one lane without swerving to the left or right. "The mandatory lane may be permanently mandatory, based on the identification of traffic signs, whether they are signs or land lines, such as places where overtaking is prohibited and special lines are identified for certain types of vehicles, and when there are trucks preventing overtaking signs, and the lane may be temporarily mandatory based on specific circumstances such as time, place, or road condition, such as the rules to prevent overtaking in “poor vision, traffic jams and accidents” and when stopping at intersections awaiting priority traffic,” His Excellency added.
