His Excellency Brigadier General Abdullah Khamis Al Hadidi, Acting Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, directed the formation of a road team headed by Brigadier Salem Sultan bin Thani Al Darmaki, Acting Director General of Central Operations, to draw up a general policy to raise the quality of roads, follow up on the implementation of approved projects on the emirate’s roads, improve traffic safety and study the problem of trucks random parking on various roads and regions of the Emirate. The move came in response to citizens’ complaints, in a number of areas due to the wrong parking of trucks, and in order to achieve the strategic goal of the Ministry of Interior, which aims to make roads safer.
Accordingly, the first meeting of the team was held, with the participation of representatives of a number of competent authorities, the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, the Ministry of Works and Public Services, the Department of Economic Development, the Municipality Department in Ras Al Khaimah, and a number of concerned officers and civilians in the Traffic and Patrols Department of Ras Al Khaimah Police.
