The Ras Al Khaimah Police Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department has announced an update to the traffic file opening process for individuals seeking vehicle driving licenses. This improvement cuts customer travel time by more than 50%, aligning with the General Command’s commitment to enhancing service quality and promoting overall well-being.

Colonel Saqr bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director of the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department, explained that the update aims to streamline the process and improve customer experience. The new journey begins with the applicant visiting one of 31 approved eye examination centers across the emirate for the required eye test. Following this, they can open a traffic file via the Ministry of Interior’s MOI application.

Next, applicants proceed to the General Resources Authority in Ras Al Khaimah for theoretical training and testing before beginning both internal and external practical training sessions. This is followed by road driving training and an evaluation stage, after which the trainee receives the necessary certification. The final step involves completing internal and external driving tests at the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department. Upon successful completion, the applicant is issued a driving license.

Colonel Al Qasimi emphasized that this service enhancement reflects the Ras Al Khaimah Police General Command’s ongoing efforts to ensure customer satisfaction by delivering faster and more efficient services. The initiative aligns with the Ministry of Interior’s strategic objectives to enhance service quality, efficiency, and transparency, ultimately contributing to greater customer happiness.
