Director of Ras Al Khaimah Civil Defense: 343,000 People Benefited from 14 Educational Campaigns in 10 Months

Colonel Salem Rashid Al Shaer Al Nuaimi, Director of the Civil Defense Department in Ras Al Khaimah, revealed during his appearance on the Al Ain Al Sahera program, organized by the Media and Public Relations Department of Ras Al Khaimah Police in collaboration with the Ras Al Khaimah Government Media Office and the Radio Authority, that 14 awareness campaigns, including four main educational campaigns, were implemented from the beginning of this year until the end of October. These campaigns benefited 343,351 individuals, including people from various sectors and school students.
Colonel Al Nuaimi emphasized that the Ministry of Interior, under the directives of Lieutenant General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, strives to achieve its strategic objective of preserving lives and property. Guided by this mission, the Civil Defense Department in Ras Al Khaimah, under the supervision of Major General Dr. Jassim Mohammed Al Marzouqi, Commander-in-Chief of Civil Defense, prioritizes implementing necessary measures and enhancing awareness efforts. This is accomplished through workshops, lectures, and distributing educational materials, especially with the onset of winter, a season often associated with an increase in fires caused by water heaters and various heating devices. Such risks require public cooperation in adhering to preventive and safety measures to avoid accidents and ensure public safety.
Colonel Al Nuaimi also highlighted a significant improvement in public compliance over recent years. The public’s growing commitment to safety guidelines has contributed to a noticeable reduction in the number of fires and the associated losses of lives and property. He urged the public, especially those heading to winter camps, to adopt preventive measures, such as equipping camps with fire extinguishers and ensuring the proper use and safety of electrical connections. The Civil Defense Department prioritizes ensuring all facilities in the emirate comply with safety and security requirements. Specialized teams conduct daily and periodic inspection visits to monitor compliance. Facilities must fulfill these requirements to receive certification, and violations result in fines and penalties in accordance with regulations and laws. Additionally, the department maintains ongoing cooperation with relevant government agencies in the emirate to uphold safety standards.
