As part of the Ras Al Khaimah Police's Al Ain Al Sahera Program, Captain Abdul Rahman Al Khatri from the Search and Rescue Department emphasized the constant readiness to ensure the safety of beach visitors in the emirate.
Captain Al Khatri explained that with the onset of summer and rising temperatures, many people flock to the beaches for swimming and recreation. In response, the department has developed comprehensive plans to enhance the security and safety of visitors and their families. Marine lifeguards along the emirate's key beaches play a pivotal role in securing these areas. These lifeguards monitor conditions, warn the public during unstable sea and high waves, and provide rapid assistance during emergencies and drowning incidents.
He cautioned against swimming in areas not designated for this purpose, as it poses significant risks to the safety of beachgoers. Captain Al Khatri highlighted the society's growing awareness and cooperation with safety advice and warnings. Under the directive of His Excellency the Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, continuous marine patrols are conducted to monitor scooters and ensure they do not come too close to the beaches, thus disturbing visitors. Shops renting out these bikes have been instructed to ensure renters adhere to safety regulations and laws.
Captain Al Khatri stressed the importance of family supervision, urging parents to keep a close watch on their children while they are at the beach and swimming. He advised against leaving children unattended, highlighted the need to use swimming pools appropriate for their age and height, and recommended wearing proper swimsuits and avoiding swimming immediately after eating.
