Ras Al Khaimah Police Enhances Security, Traffic, and Awareness Plans for Ramadan

The Ras Al Khaimah Police General Command has intensified its security, traffic, and awareness efforts for the holy month of Ramadan to ensure a safe and peaceful environment for all members of society. These measures align with the Ministry of Interior's strategy to enhance the quality of security life, promote social well-being, and ensure public safety throughout the blessed month.

The General Directorate of Police Operations is committed to combating uncivilized behaviors, such as begging, through its comprehensive police stations. This aligns with the Ministry of Interior’s initiatives to curb begging and reinforces the ongoing campaigns by Ras Al Khaimah Police to address negative practices that tend to increase during Ramadan. During this time, beggars and street vendors exploit the public’s generosity. To counter this, a strategic plan has been implemented to intensify security awareness campaigns, educate the public on the risks of responding to beggars, and encourage donations through official and accredited charitable organizations to ensure fair distribution to those in need.

The General Directorate of Police Operations continuously monitors and tracks beggars throughout the holy month, taking legal action against anyone attempting to beg or engage in unlawful gain. This effort aims to enhance security and uphold the country's civilized image. Furthermore, the Directorate has issued a warning against setting off fireworks, emphasizing the importance of maintaining public safety and order while avoiding any legal violations.

The General Directorate of Central Operations is strengthening road safety measures to ensure smooth traffic flow, particularly around mosques during Tarawih prayers. The Central Operations Room and on-call teams remain available 24/7 to handle inquiries, respond promptly to reports, and assist the public throughout Ramadan. For urgent emergencies, individuals can contact (999), while (901) is available for general inquiries and service requests.

During the holy month, the Media and Public Relations Department launches various religious and security awareness programs in collaboration with different entities. Among these is the annual Ramadan media campaign, "Fight Begging and Help the Needy," which educates the community on the importance of not responding to beggars and reporting them to the authorities for appropriate legal action. Another key initiative is "Ramadan Councils," which supports community discussions in residential neighborhoods under the Ministry of Interior’s umbrella.

Traffic patrols and police stations also work to educate road users on traffic safety, reminding drivers to avoid speeding in an attempt to reach iftar on time, thereby protecting lives and property. Ras Al Khaimah Police urges all members of the community to embrace the spiritual essence of Ramadan while ensuring a peaceful and secure environment for everyone.
