As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance media awareness and strengthen the foundations of effective institutional communication, the General Command of Ras Al Khaimah Police organized a specialized lecture on the role of the “Official Spokesperson” for students of the College of Mass Communication at Umm Al Quwain University, in the presence of His Excellency Brigadier Ahmed Al Sam Al Naqbi, Director General of Central Operations. The lecture was delivered by Colonel Staff Dr. Abdullah bin Salman Al Nuaimi, Director of Operations Department at Ras Al Khaimah Police, during which he outlined the key responsibilities of the Official Spokesperson as the institution’s first line of defense. He highlighted the personal qualities and professional skills required for the role, emphasizing the importance of training and development programs in refining the spokesperson’s ability to handle media crises and manage emergencies and disasters efficiently and professionally. Colonel Al Nuaimi elaborated on building a professional rapport with the media and addressing their inquiries with responsibility and transparency, thereby embodying credibility and strengthening public trust in the institution. He emphasized that developing a well-structured and balanced media message, aligned with official protocols, is a key component of effective government communication. He stated that this initiative aims to equip the next generation of media professionals with the necessary tools and fundamentals to effectively address media challenges, providing them with the knowledge to deliver media messages with precision and transparency, thereby ensuring the desired positive impact.
