His Excellency Major General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Head of Local Emergency Crisis and Disaster Team in Ras Al Khaimah - Commander in Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, announced a package of precautionary and preventive measures, which have been approved to be applied in the emirate, in accordance with the instructions of the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, coinciding with the blessed month of Ramadan, to prevent the spread of Covid-19 during the holy month.
Precautionary measures which must be taken into consideration during the month, such as preventing Iftar (break a fast) tents or allocating public places for shared meals, while preventing the distribution of Iftar meals to fasting people in front of homes, and those wishing to need to coordinate with competent authorities.
His Excellency Munther bin Shukr Al Zaabi, a member of the Local Emergency Crisis and Disaster Team, in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah - Director General of the Ras Al Khaimah Municipality Department, said that restaurants need to ensure hygiene, safety and health of cookers and service providers, and their commitment to wearing masks and gloves. His Excellency added that Iftar meals should be in boxes or bags that are tightly closed, adding that it is strictly forbidden to distribute Iftar meals inside or in front of restaurants, and the distribution is limited to residential labor complexes, through coordination between restaurants and the management of labor complexes in the area. His Excellency stressed that selling at restaurants to the public is restricted to regular meals, by following the utmost precautionary and preventive measures, and gatherings are not allowed while receiving meals. His Excellency underlined the need to keep a distance of 2 meters between persons, and adhere to wearing protective masks.
